Here’s what some of our clients think of dog’s day out

OUR DAY TRAINING PROGRAM:

By the time we got to Dog’s Day Out we were facing the painful idea of having to give one of our puppies away. We had been naïve enough to have gotten two identical solid black brothers (English cockers) that were finding it impossible to figure out between them who was the alpha dog. With the house near condemnation from chewing, our ears near deaf from barking and battling we drove Max and Sam across from Bainbridge every day for two weeks on the 6am ferry to our last chance. Believe me we wouldn’t have done it if it didn’t help.

We took the news hard but we knew Danette was telling the truth when she said, “the problem isn’t with the dogs it is with the two legged people in the house.”  Six months later as we watch out dogs sleep in a pot of sun yesterday  my husband turned to me and noted “ we have made it through the worse, they are maturing, we are maturing, and our family is so much better for having both Sam and Max, now 16months, part of it.”

We know who to thank

OUR DAY CARE & OBEDIENCE CLASSES:

Dog's Day Out day care has been a lifesaver for us! Cooper comes home a happy and tired pup, and we know that the people at Dog's Day Out care about him. Going to day care gives him a positive socialization experience and provides us with a break as well.

Taking the basic obedience class with Cooper really taught us how to be good puppy parents. We know more about how Cooper thinks, and that helps us teach him our expectations in a way that he understands. We're better able to communicate and direct his energy, and that has strengthened our relationship with Cooper.

Dog's Day Out has it all........Not only is the environment safe, fun, & clean it has provided Bud, my Lab mix an outlet for his energy, socialization & class training experiences for the past 3 years. I totally trust the entire staff with Bud's welfare, they have years of knowledge & experience with all aspects of our four legged kids.

Oh boy, well you know how much I value you and Dog’s Day Out! I have the most hyper, high maintenance dog in the world and knowing there is someone there like you, who is trained and certified to watch after her and help me understand her quirky ways while providing her daycare all in one is completely invaluable to me!

Thanks Danette!

My yellow lab LOVES Dog's Day Out!  He whines with impatience when he knows we are going there and when we arrive he bounds in without a backward glance.  When he was younger, his time at DDO helped him learn how to interact with other dogs.  Now he has fun and gets good exercise and playtime.  He comes home a very happy dog who is more than willing to sleep after dinner!  The caregivers are knowledgeable and caring with the dogs and give helpful input if they spot any health or behavior issues.  This is a GREAT option for working dog owners!

Our pup has been going to Dog's Day Out since she was eight weeks old.

Now, at 4 years she still goes every week.  Being a hunting breed, she requires a lot of exercise and social interaction.  After a day a DDO she comes home calm, and quite, and relaxed, and is the most socially well adjusted dog we have ever had.  Thanks to Dog's Day Out, our dog's second home!

Anyone who has owned a shiba inu knows what a challenging breed this can be. No amount of research could have prepared me for Hachiko. We love this dog dearly, but it didn’t take long before we realized what a handful she would be -- dominant, manipulative, and deviously clever at times. She is wonderful with people and especially children, but I knew that because of the nature of the breed and her own spunky personality, she would have to be properly socialized or be unmanageable around other dogs. I turned to Danette at Dog’s Day Out to see if dog day care might be an appropriate option for Hachi.

That was almost four years ago – we first brought Hachi to Dog’s Day out when she was a year old. Hachi is well-supervised there, and comes home from her Wednesday play days exhausted and happy. I am confident that because of their extensive experience and training, Danette and her staff will always be in total control of any situation.  I can trust the Dog’s Day Out folks to know which dogs thrive in a day care situation (because not all do), and which ones (like mine) thrive even better in an environment that patiently enforces consistent parameters. I know that because of the low dog-to-person ratio at DDO, each dog will have human interaction as well as a wildly wonderful time with canine buddies.

There seem to be dog day care centers popping up everywhere.  I don’t know the credentials of the folks operating these, but I would guess that they don’t have the depth of experience of the folks at Dog’s Day Out. My little shiba is still a shiba – challenging and quirky. But thanks to her Dog’s Day Out day care experience, she is a much better dog. I would not place her in a day care situation with anyone else but Danette and her staff.

Sorry, Danette (and Georgia), I think you’re stuck with her!

Libby has made some good dog friends and loves going to doggie daycare at Dog's Day Out.  We have taken some excellent classes that have strengthened the relationship between my dog and I.  We have learned some very fun tricks and crucial skills that have helped both Libby and I immensely.
