WANNA BE A DOG TRAINER????

We are a fantastic “laboratory” for
observing and learning about dog to dog interactions and behavior. Knowledge on canine behavior
preferred but a willingness, and eagerness to learn and a fascination with
dog behavior is even more important. This is a great opportunity for a new
trainer, dog walker, veterinary tech/assistant or just plain ol’ folk
truly interested in canine behavior.
This is a position for someone who is capable of taking
on a variety of tasks. An extremely responsible and patient
human is what we are looking for. You should be a self starter who can work
independently. Direct dog and client contact is involved. You also must
tolerate cleaning; we do a LOT of
that around here and it is (unfortunately L)
part of the work!
Internship requires working 2 afternoon shifts
(12:00-6:30) during the week in the day care and attendance, first as an
observer, then as an assistant, at selected group obedience classes
(currently held Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings). Approximately
15hrs/week. Requires a one year commitment; however we are looking for someone
who is interested in working long term as a trainer at Dog’s Day Out.

PAY RATE: $10/hr start, $11/hr after 6 months.
Competitive trainer rates once internship is complete.
