DAYCARE APPLICATION/EVALUATION
Prior to attending day care, all dogs are required to complete an application
and have an evaluation. The evaluation is done by appointment
with limited access to the other day care dogs so that your dog can have a
chance to become acquainted with the facility without being bombarded
immediately with 15 dogs! The evaluation takes approximately 30 minutes.
We start your dog greeting a couple of other non-threatening, well-socialized dogs so we can get an idea of how your dog will react to others. As your dog adjusts we will gradually bring out more dogs to meet. You will also be asked to leave the area we have the dogs for 5-10 minutes during the
evaluation to see if your dog is stressed (and if so, to what extent) while
you are gone. During the evaluation we will evaluate handling, toy/food protectiveness and
knowledge of basic commands.
